Sam McIvor is a Partner in our Employment and Safety team. Sam has significant experience in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law including employment relations, industrial relations and health and safety.
Sam provides clients with a full range employment law representation by combining sensible and practical business acumen with a high level of legal expertise and understanding.
Sam's experience includes advising clients across a range of industries, including transport, insurance, education, government, manufacturing, construction, mining and professional services on issues such as discrimination, unfair dismissal, trade union disputes, enterprise bargaining, rights of entry, adverse action, equal pay, privacy, disciplinary matters, contracts and policies.
Sam has significant experience in large-scale employment litigation across a number of jurisdictions and appears regularly for clients before the Fair Work Commission, the State and Federal Courts, QCAT and the ADCQ.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in addition to a Bachelor of Laws. Sam is admitted to practice as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and as a Barrister and Solicitor in the High Court of New Zealand.
