Matthew advises on the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial property and businesses, particularly for hotels, clubs and development sites. He is a trusted advisor to many hotels, pubs, clubs, restaurants, property developers and commercial business owners. Matthew has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a range of contracts for the acquisition and disposal of assets, put and call options, joint venture agreements, agreements for lease and leases in a manner that maximises results for his clients.
Matthew has also developed niche expertise in liquor and gaming licensing issues, including applications for new site licences, extended hours, detached bottleshops, management agreements and compliance/disciplinary matters. He has achieved favourable outcomes in obtaining approval for many complex and novel licensing arrangements. His experience in a range of complex matters allows him to continually deliver results to his clients in an efficient manner, helping to ensure that a strong commercial outcome is achieved.
In addition, Matthew also advises licensed clubs, sporting associations and individuals on a range of club and sports law related issues, including mergers, constitutions and governance, membership issues, disciplinary procedures and commercial contracts.
