Areas of expertise
Jason joined Mullins Lawyers in December 2013 as a Partner in the firm's Insurance Litigation team, where he works primarily as a panel lawyer for both WorkCover Queensland and various licensed self-insurers.
Jason has extensive prior legal experience having served 5-year Articles of Clerkship beginning in 1988 and being admitted as a solicitor in 1994. He practised in a wide range of different areas such as property, banking and finance and commercial litigation until 1998, when he began specialising in personal injuries law. Since then, he has acted for both plaintiffs in worker's compensation, compulsory third party, public liability, medical negligence and Total and Permanent Disability claims (while working in senior roles in two large personal injuries practices); and defendants in worker's compensation and compulsory third party claims (both in private practice and in various in-house roles with two major Queensland insurers).
During his time in both his in-house roles and in senior private practice positions, Jason gained valuable management experience working with high-performing teams and now applies that to his work in leading and mentoring the firm's insurance litigation lawyers.
Jason also brings his wealth of legal and management experience to his role as Chairman of the Board of a local Brisbane primary school, and regularly performs other voluntary legal work to assist the members of his local community.
